WPHPP 2007
Welcome to the Summer '07 Western Pennsylvania Health Preceptorship Program! We're so excited to provide a new group of participants with the fantastic clinical experience that WPHPP has been providing for over 35 years.
Your Coordinators,
Kevin Nuttall
Elizabeth Martin
Jared Novack
End-of-summer dinner
The WPHPP end-of-summer appreciation dinner will be held at 6 PM on August 30 at UPMC St. Margaret. Pitt students: your case studies will be due at the dinner. Please bring them with you, as we will ask you to say a few words about your patients. Students from other schools are not required to attend, but we encourage you to attend if you are in the area.
Please also remember to complete your evaluations and email them back to us!
Case Reports
Just to clear up some confusion, students from outside of Pitt school of medicine do NOT need to do a case write-up!
For Pitt students, the write-up will be due on the day of the end-of-semester dinner, which we are working on scheduling. It will probably be at the end of August in the St. Margaret's conference room.
I hope your summers are all going well! Don't hesitate to email us if there have been any problems.
Hospital Spreadsheet Updated
We now have confirmation that hospitals including Monongahela Valley, Altoona, UPMC Horizon, UPMC Passavant, UPMC St. Margaret, UPMC Bedford, Warren General, and St. Clair Memorial have agreed to participate this summer in the WPHPP! Dr. Slemenda has also agreed to host a WPHPP student at the Tri-State Cardiology Group! That means there are spots for at least 16 students depending on whether or not additional hospitals participate. Judging by last year, 16 spots could be enough to accommodate all applicants. Please open the
Participating Hospitals Spreadsheet and check out the "Status" column for the information on possible hospital choices. Don’t forget
applications are due March 24th.
Application Posted
The application for 2006 is ready to be downloaded. Please take a
look. If you already have submitted an application for 2006 using the previous year's document, there is no need to resubmit a new application.
Informational Meeting with Coordinators
The WPHPP Coordinators will hold an informational meeting for the PittMed first years on Wednesday, Febuary 8, 2006 from 12-1 in Scaife Hall, LR3. Lunch will be provided.
New Information in Participating Hospitals Spreadsheet
We already have confirmation that hospitals including Altoona Family Physicians, UPMC Horizon, UPMC Passavant, and St. Clair Memorial Hospital have agreed to participate this summer in the WPHPP! Download the

Links to Mapquest Added
We have mapped each hospital on the
Participating Hospitals page to make it easier to determine where the hospitals are located across Western Pennsylvania.
New Website Design
Welcome to the new WPHPP website! Please have patience because it is still under construction.
